Read what Mr. Dennis M. Egan, Jr., aka, "Teacher DJ," has to say about the message behind the lyrics for the song, "Excellent Strength (RPSA)."
Mr. Egan strives to write songs for students from around the State. He began this song around February 2022. This song is about having a bright future and it's connected to the fact that students can and should recognize that they have worth and value; therefore, they can go into the world with excellent strength for the purpose of helping other people.
This is connected with making the most of their education so that they are better equipped to meet their needs as well as to be resourceful in meeting other people's needs; of course, sometimes just sharing a smile or a kind word is demonstrating excellence in how we impact our world. It is important to communicate to them that there are always caring parents, teachers, administrators and friends who can help them to navigate through the various pressures they face as they take upon themselves more responsibility in life. Good citizenship begins with personal responsibility and learning how to make a positive difference in the life of others. Students will have success in life when they set their thoughts upon the principle of perseverance and pursuing their dreams with passion and joy. "Teacher DJ" recorded this song for the HMS Students while visiting a studio in Metro-Detroit. FUN FACT: This song was originally composed for upper elementary students in Gratiot County; however, the lyrics are being adapted and modified for other schools and spheres of influence in society! The song has a universal message. SPECIAL REFLECTION: The two pictures to the bottom right are Mr. Egan with his and Mrs. Egan's 3 oldest sons; all three of them attended RPSA over the course of the past seven years. "Teacher DJ" believes that his ability to engage children, through music and in the context of academic knowledge and promoting good citizenship, stems in large part from his dynamic experiences as a father. |
