Regardless of what main topic (with associated sub topics) is selected for an assembly with students, the following represents the basic format of presentation:
I. Introduction with relevant, real-world and engaging activator connecting with historical and/or current events.
II. Definition of vocabulary terms in connection with activator and content of presentation.
III. Essential Question(s) proposed and brief collaborative opportunities for students to discuss concept(s) with partners in the audience where they are sitting. Random students will be periodically called to type a short response using blue-tooth keyboard so that entire audience can see on secondary projector screen. Also, some students will be called to the interactive whiteboard on the stage set in order to engage with specific visual content relevant to the content of the presentation.
IV. Various forms of multimedia will be used throughout the presentation in order to communicate information successfully.
V. Students will also have various assessments toward the end of presentation and will be able to experience cloud-based follow up activities and assessments in the classroom.
