Fundraising is a powerful tool for creating the necessary resources to bring a MAC assembly to your school community. This strategy is a student-centered approach in the sense that, once an interest in hearing Mr. Egan speak during a future assembly is determined, students ultimately own the responsibility for advocating to raise funds to secure such an assembly experience for themselves and the overall school community.
This approach to fundraising is great because it not only provides the financial means to Pay-it-Forward within a local school community and beyond, but it also teaches leadership skills for students whose grade level can range from upper elementary through high school. Finally, fundraising can be used as the exclusive means in securing a MAC assembly or it can be supplemented with funds that a school administration has available to allocate for motivational and educational events of this nature. NOTE: students must go through parents, teachers and administrators and should NOT contact MAC. However, we encourage adults to work together with students in the process of learning how to use the Fundraising and Pay-It-Forward model. |
