Our efforts are focused on utilizing music as a bridge between Grade 1 ELA Standards/Concepts & Student Achievement. Through a systematic process, which is research based, interactive and fun, students will develop reading skills through constructing the sentences and paragraphs in a story by means of advancing through each basic component in a hierarchical way which synthesizes music and ELA content. This is achieved through multimedia engagement, kinesthetic movement and various musical genres being connected with call-and-response actions which utilize arpeggios and scales. We believe that MAC's K-2 assemblies are truly a novel and innovative service for school environments, and such opportunities will facilitate a joyful academic learning experience which students will embrace with excitement.
